Today's MIEE Spotlight is shining down on Jon Tait, Deputy Headteacher at Acklam Grange School. Jon is also an author for Bloomsbury Education, inspiring teachers through his writing.
Jon is passionate about empowering the staff in his school to use technology effectively in the classroom, to enhance their teaching and learning and to enhance their productivity. Jon has decided to tackle this in a different angle from most, and has stared with the leadership modelling good practice. This is integral to the success Acklam Grange have seen, and also in my own experience of working with schools. Acklam's Senior Leadership Team have embraced OneNote to share documentation and information to collaborate and have also saved thousands of pounds in printing costs! All members of the team are more informed and up to date for each strategic meeting, due to the power of OneNote being accessible on any device.
This is now having an impact on teaching and learning in school as SMT are modelling good practice which is being disseminated throughout the classes.
Using Microsoft Planner is helping drive performance in staff and pupils across the whole school too.
